Already signed in?

It’s faster from inside Torch: Settings → Delete account. Same result, no email round trip.

What happens when you confirm

Your account pauses immediately — you no longer appear to other members and can’t use Torch — and the team finishes the deletion within about a week. Until then you can sign in and choose Keep my account; after that it’s permanent. You’ll get an email at each step.

What gets deleted

• Your profile — name, photo, headline, bio, company, links, and the professional profile Torch derived from them.
• Your sign-in credential. The account can no longer be logged into, and you’re signed out on every device.
• Your signals and drafts are closed, and upcoming event RSVPs are cancelled, so nobody is left waiting on you.
• Your membership application and any lead record we hold for your address, including everything you wrote in them and the record imported from our earlier member system.
• Notes our team kept about you, the log of emails we sent you, and the answer you gave to “who referred you?”
• Personalized data Torch generated about you — match history inputs, behavioral summaries, and archived weekly briefs.
• Everything you posted yourself — Pulse posts and polls, group-wall and event-wall posts, marketplace offers, and perks you shared — along with their photos. They also leave Torch search.
• Your email address is removed and cannot be recovered.
• The same goes for anything we hold under an email address you used before, or under a duplicate record of you that our team merged into your account.

What we keep, and why

A small amount of data outlives the account. We’d rather say so plainly than let you find out later.

• Other people’s copies of shared conversations. Messages you sent, introductions you were part of, and event rosters you appeared on are also the other person’s record. Deleting your account does not reach into theirs — though any files you attached to a message are deleted.
• Wins, and your comments on other people’s posts. A win names someone you helped or who helped you, so it is their recognition as much as yours, and a comment is part of someone else’s conversation. They stay, credited to a departed member rather than to you.
• Billing and tax records. Payment history is retained where law requires it. Deleting your account does not cancel a paid membership on its own — the team closes it out at the end of the current period and confirms with you, so there is nothing more you need to do.
• Terms-of-service acceptances. An immutable legal record that a given account accepted a given version.
• Who referred whom. If a member brought you to Torch, or you brought someone, that link stays as part of their record, credited to a departed member. Your own written answer is deleted.
• A reference number from our earlier member system. Not personal information on its own. We keep it so the nightly sync recognizes your deleted account and never re-creates it.
• An anonymized deletion record. Proof the request was made and honored. It contains no personal information.

How long it takes

Your account locks the moment you confirm: your profile and posts disappear from Torch, and you can no longer use it. The deletion itself completes 7 days later, and we email you the date. Until then you can change your mind — sign in and choose “Keep my account” to undo it. Our team may complete it sooner. Backups containing your data are overwritten on their own rotation within 30 days after that.
